Clinical workflow planning

Clinical workflow planning organises activities, resources and planning observations for operating theatres and clinics. Jovimed supports coordination between teams; authorised professionals retain clinical priorities and decisions about care.

Configuration, integrations and availability are discussed in your demonstration.

CAPABILITIES

What the team can follow.

Planning needs to consider available staff, prepared materials and each activity’s requirements. A shared view helps teams discuss overlaps and changes. Illustrative information describes an approach to organisation without promising capacity or financial outcomes.

Planned activities

Organise the activity, interval and owner. Planning information stays distinct from documented moments of completed activity so staff can explain a change or delay.

Resources in context

Associate the room, team and required resources with relevant activity. Owners examine availability; showing a resource in a plan does not alone demonstrate that it is suitable for use.

Preparation and observations

Retain preparation checks and observations needing clarification. Staff can see missing information before activity and who follows completion, within their defined access roles.

Schedule changes

Connect a change with its reason and the person recording it. The owner examines implications for resources and other activities while the plan version retains the discussion context.

Documented moments

Bring together available activity milestones for internal analysis. An observed duration remains separate from an estimate; differences are interpreted with clinical context and data completeness.

Workflow review

Prepare a view of observations and improvement actions. Staff can follow agreed changes and supporting information without automatically attributing a delay to an individual or clinical cause.

IN PRACTICECoordinating an activity

IN PRACTICE

A resource needs an additional check.

The theatre plan includes an activity requiring equipment with an open technical observation. The coordinator consults its owner and retains the change in the record. Competent staff decide what happens to the activity using available information and clinical priorities.

  1. The coordinator examines the activity and associated resources, identifying the observation needing clarification.

  2. The technical owner records available information and the equipment decision.

  3. Competent staff revise the plan, recording the reason for the change and the people informed.

RECORDS & TRACEABILITY

Records for review.

Planned and actual activity milestones provide context for internal analysis. Fields, access and recording methods are defined with the teams using the record.

  • Activities, intervals and plan versions
  • Associated resources and preparation checks
  • Documented moments and coordination observations
  • Changes, reasons and responsibilities

BEFORE YOUR DEMONSTRATION

Useful questions.

Does software decide the order of clinical activities?

No. Authorised professionals determine priorities and care decisions. Jovimed organises planning information, resources and observations so staff can discuss changes. An operational view does not replace patient assessment and is not an automatic recommendation about treatment or clinical priority for a particular patient or activity.

How are observed durations interpreted?

Durations are examined together with documented milestones and activity context. Staff check whether information is complete and distinguish estimates from recorded moments. A difference can open an improvement discussion but does not alone establish the cause of a delay, an individual’s performance or whether a clinical change is appropriate.

How are required resources followed?

A plan can associate activity with rooms, staff and relevant resources in the agreed configuration. Owners examine availability and conditions of use, then record observations. The demonstration addresses data sources and relationships with technical or sterilisation records without assuming universal integration with every existing hospital system.
